Public transport in Kraków

 

 

Kraków offers numerous tram and bus lines that make it easy to navigate the city (zone I). Additionally, suburban lines are available for travel to nearby towns in zones II and III. To help you get started, we've compiled a guide detailing the city's transportation options.

Note that students are eligible for a discount with either their Polish Student ID Card (no age limit) or an ISIC - International Student Identity Card (up to the age of 26).

Types of tickets:

 

I. Short-term tickets

 

  • Paper ticket

Ticket machines located in the vehicles & stationary KKM ticket machines 
 

IMPORTANT: Simply purchasing a ticket for public transport is not sufficient, you must also validate it using the validators available on every bus and tram. Validating your ticket will display both the date and time of validation. (This requirement does not apply to season tickets registered on the Krakow City Card.)

II. Season tickets - Cracow City Card 

 

 

 

The Krakow City Card (KKM) functions as a personalized period ticket. To obtain the KKM, follow these steps:

  1. Fill out the application form (available at KMK Passenger Service Points or online at ekp.mpk.krakow.pl).
  2. Present a valid identification document.
  3. Provide a separate facial photograph for scanning.
  4. Select the desired top-up period for the card.
  5. Collect your plastic Krakow City Card.
